You can easily identify hijacked acocunts - just view sellers other items, if they are selling large number of high ticket items and urge you to email them prior to placing the bid, most likely giving email address in the text of the auction, discouraging contact via eBay (contact seller) button, advertising buy now possible without buy now button.... those are the easy ones to identify.

The more sophisticated scammer is more difficult to track, I have an archive on my last finding on my blog with step - by step tracking of one of the more sophisticated scam auction.

The latest and most wide spread scams hijack eBay accounts and post fake auctions with picture perfect feedback. We are tracking samples of those perfect feedback hijacked eBay accounts and relevant samples of fake auctions on eBay at

http://www.companyexposed.com

So if in doubt, check the listing that will give you a real time sample of fake auctions and hijacked eBay accounts - 24/7

I have also archived the lates phishing scam that those fraudsters inject directly into eBay auctions so the login page that transmits your user name and password is now part of real eBay page.

whilst i agree that the scammers are the lowest scummiest winnets on the behind of society they are providing a valuable service. They are removing money from people obviously too stupid to cope with having it, look upon it as financial darwinism, a kind of idiot tax.
Now onto the business of the day, I have a couple of astons for sale, good working order, 50 quid per vanquish, any takers?
