“after all it’s just some graphics, feel free to use them”

We’ve been in touch - and I said when I next update the page, I’ll add a link to his app.

I did make my own letters too which were used for the products.

    absolutely pathetic..

  57. Matt F said,

    @ hey asswipe

Get bent! As I explained, a mate “aquired” the letters for me, which I used in the code. Then I get an email from Stafan - so I email him back explaining. I then get my own letter images. So cock off with your accusations.
Nout on this site is stolen.

  75. Matt Facer said,

    December 2, 2004 @ 5:06 pm

Whatever!! How the hell can you come on here saying that!? I had a project to do, and needed to learn Flash with PHP. This fridge came about as a result of that. Like I would try and copy that frostwelcome fridge thing. Mine is just a bit of fun, so why stop people enjoying it? No adverts, no money making out of it (unlike frostwelcome)… just there because I made it. How dare you come on here accusing me of copying it. I bet if we compared code, it would be completely different. “A direct Rip”. Yeah right. They look completely different.

  78. Sam said,

    December 2, 2004 @ 6:06 pm

I agree, the idea is the same, but not intentionally I dont think?!! That’s like saying, “oh I know, I’ll set up a forum about Football”… and another football forum saying “Hey, you copied us”….

Nah, that’s just a copy… Type in fridge magnets into google and you’ll find Frosty Welcome. It’s annoying but true. Either you ripped it or you had the same idea 3 years after he did. Either way, the other one is better… move on… and do your research!

  91. Rod said,

    December 3, 2004 @ 12:34 pm

    Hey Matt, it is impressive.
If any of these people knew anything about flash and actionscript they would know that it is not as easy to steal actionscript code as it is just about any other web code.
You just keep doing your thang mate, ignore the morons devoured by the tall poppy syndrome.

    Peace out dude

  92. Matt Facer said,

    December 3, 2004 @ 12:38 pm

Cheers Rod… I think their problem was with the fact they thought I stole the idea! I wouldn’t mind if being accused of stealing actual code!! But to steal an idea… sheesh!! Thanks for the comments :)

    Cool idea.

It would be better if you added punctuation marks, special characters, etc.

I would also like it better if you could type it in with the keyboard, but it would still look like magnets.

I teach ESL and this would be a fun way to get students to write complete sentences. To make it really work in the classroom, I would need, as others have pointed out, some punctuation marks and capital letters. Any chance of that happening soon? Otherwise, it’s a good start. And don’t worry about having the letters added via keyboard. In my opinion, the whole idea is to move the letters one by one, just like one does with magnets.

It would be fabulous to archive the fridge messages! What fun!
