santa pod (sept 2006)
Finally got around to uploading photos from the lads’ day out to Santa Pod. Great day which was certainly eventful….
We started off badly, even before we arrived to the Pod it was standing traffic. As we thought it’s probably only a mile to the event, we’d walk. Bad idea. It turned out to be a lot further - and the cars we left behind beat us there!
We couldn’t have asked for a better day, well most of us were happy - apart from Adam (see photos below of the awesome sun cream coverage). The racing was awesome as usual… but ended before the finalé due to a spectator being injured by flying debris (unfortunately he then later died).
The journey home was also riddled with events - two accidents closed off the motorway - but luckily we managed to take some minor detours to avoid it all. 5 miles from home we then got a blow out. 13 guys and we couldn’t change the flat. The bloody wheel nuts were bolted on with some sort of super bolter-onner. The AA eventually turned up and got us on our way.
All in all though, a cracking day out! Check out Santa Pod for any upcoming events. I definitely recommend it!
